Spirit Scanner Toolkit («the App») is a mobile application that provides a collection of entertainment and exploration tools, including audio analysis, camera-based visual analysis, spirit-themed scanning features, and related interactive experiences. The app is designed for entertainment and personal exploration purposes and does not claim to scientifically detect, communicate with, or verify the existence of spirits or paranormal entities.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Information You Create
When you use Spirit Scanner, the App may generate or store information associated with your sessions, including:
- Audio recordings created using the recording feature.
- Detected audio events.
- Audio analysis information, such as frequency, audio level, duration, and other technical measurements.
- Locally stored session information and App preferences.
Audio recordings and session information are stored locally on your device.
Spirit Scanner does not upload your audio recordings, camera images, or locally stored session content to our own servers.
2. Microphone and Audio Features
Spirit Scanner uses your device’s microphone when you use its audio analysis and recording features.
Audio captured by the microphone may be processed to provide features such as:
- Audio level and dBFS measurements.
- Frequency analysis.
- Waveforms.
- Spectrograms.
- Audio event detection.
- Recording duration.
- Audio recordings in WAV format.
When you start a recording, the captured audio may be saved as a WAV file locally on your device so that you can review it within the App.
The App does not use the microphone for surveillance or continuous background recording. Audio capture is active only while you are using an audio feature that requires it.
When the audio session ends or you leave the relevant feature, audio capture stops.
3. Camera and SLS Features
Spirit Scanner may use your device’s camera to provide camera-based visual analysis and SLS-style features.
When you use these features, camera frames may be processed on the device to detect human-like shapes, body positions, or visual patterns and display corresponding visual information on the screen.
Camera processing is used to provide the feature you are actively using.
Spirit Scanner does not upload your camera images or video recordings to our own servers.
Camera access is only active while you are using a feature that requires camera access.
4. Local Preferences and Session Data
Spirit Scanner may store certain preferences and session information locally on your device.
This may include settings related to the App, audio tools, visual tools, and locally saved recordings or sessions.
This information is not automatically uploaded to our servers.
5. Analytics and Crash Reporting
Spirit Scanner uses Google Firebase Analytics and Google Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used, monitor technical performance, identify errors, and improve stability.
These services may process information such as:
- App events, for example when a feature is opened or a recording is started or stopped.
- App version and operating system information.
- Device and technical information.
- Crash and error reports.
- Technical information associated with crashes or App events.
- General usage information about App features.
Spirit Scanner does not intentionally send the content of your audio recordings or camera images to Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics.
The App’s audio recordings and camera content remain separate from the analytics and crash-reporting systems.
Firebase services are provided by Google and may process information according to Google’s applicable privacy policies.
6. Advertising
Spirit Scanner uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.
AdMob may collect and process information about your device, App usage, advertising interactions, and other information necessary to provide, measure, and improve advertising services.
Depending on your location, applicable law, consent choices, and Google settings, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized.
AdMob may also process approximate geographic information for advertising and measurement purposes. Spirit Scanner does not request your precise GPS location for advertising.
Spirit Scanner does not sell your personal information.
7. Purchases
If Spirit Scanner offers optional in-app purchases, purchases are processed through Google Play Billing.
Payment information, such as credit card or bank account details, is handled by Google Play and is not stored or processed directly by Spirit Scanner.
The App may receive information necessary to determine whether a purchase has been completed and to unlock the corresponding feature.
8. Permissions We Request
Depending on the features you use, Spirit Scanner may request the following permissions:
Microphone
Used to analyze and record audio when you actively use audio features.
Camera
Used to provide camera-based visual analysis and SLS-style features when you actively use those features.
Notifications
If enabled, used to provide notifications related to App functionality.
Internet / Network access
Used for services such as Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, and other online functionality.
Spirit Scanner does not request precise location permissions such as GPS access.
9. Location Information
Spirit Scanner does not use your device’s GPS location for its audio analysis, audio recording, or camera/SLS features.
The App does not request precise location permissions such as ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION.
However, third-party services integrated into the App, such as Google AdMob and Firebase, may independently process approximate geographic information as part of their services. This information may be derived or provided through mechanisms such as network information or IP-based geographic estimation.
Such processing is governed by the respective third-party service’s privacy practices.
10. Third-Party Services
Spirit Scanner uses or may use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase Analytics — analytics and usage measurement.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reporting.
- Google AdMob — advertising.
- Google Play Billing — in-app purchases.
- Google Play services and other Android system services required for App functionality.
These services are operated by third parties and may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
11. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not upload your audio recordings or camera content to our own servers.
We do not intentionally share your locally stored recordings, camera content, or session content with advertising providers.
However, the third-party services integrated into the App may independently collect and process technical, analytics, advertising, or purchase-related information as described in their respective privacy policies.
12. Your Data, Your Control
Audio recordings and other locally stored content can be deleted using the controls provided by the App, where available.
You can also remove locally stored App data through your Android device’s settings or by uninstalling the App.
Spirit Scanner does not maintain a server-side copy of your locally stored audio recordings or camera content.
13. Children’s Privacy
Spirit Scanner is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 16.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s functionality, third-party services, or data practices change.
The “Last updated” date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy indicates when the policy was most recently revised.
